That's the trouble, and the suspense with silkies. You never really know anything for positive on some until they are around four months old or one crows.Oh man… it stinks they take so long to tell because then I will have to rehome him by himself

Oh no! I am dealing with a frizzle as well! I think he’s a late bloomer… I hatched 8 chicks and 7 were frizzles and I spotted the three boys at two to three weeks.. no joke! But this one here is just stringing me alongThat's the trouble, and the suspense with silkies. You never really know anything for positive on some until they are around four months old or one crows.
Frizzles are even worse! I had one I changed sex on about four times, and finally it was around six months old and crowed. Then I knew for certain! It hadn't gotten a large comb until it was around a year old.
Ooh, pretty, but I don't know. If the bin just says, "bantams", what's that comb look like compared to the other ones? With frizzles, they don't get the typical hackle feathers roosters get so you're stuck going by the comb and wattles.
Yes, correct… they are definitely bantams …. The ones I hatched were also bantams… I had wound up with a bantam frizzle rooster from last year… and he fathered all the frizzles…Ooh, pretty, but I don't know.
