Silkie thread!

I use to be a silkie hater until I saw a buff silkie rooster a few days ago and I like feell in love.

Usually, it's the whites that getcha.

No it was somewhere else. I went to Little Ameraucana Mom's house to buy a pair of bantam ameraucanas, and in her garage was this big buff silkie rooster.... and I was like Oh My Goodness I want that rooster but I dont have any hens and I have some places to put them but no hens! So that was some buff and I really want some

Wow! Such pretty silkies! Around what age do they usually start laying? seems like I'm waiting forever on mine....lol They are 21 weeks old. The boys have been 'bugging' them, but no eggs yet.

Guess that mean I have a bit until my White pullet starts laying. I think she is about 5 months old right now.

Question: Do you people see you Roosters breed? I have a feeling that my White Rooster isn't breeding right now. How can I tell?

My girls are begging me for some silkies. They see me constantly hatching out my Dual Purpose chicks and keep asking when I am going to hatch some silkies. Does anyone have eggs for sell? They don't have to be show quality. I would be looking more for the best temperament than show quality.
