My girls are begging me for some silkies. They see me constantly hatching out my Dual Purpose chicks and keep asking when I am going to hatch some silkies. Does anyone have eggs for sell? They don't have to be show quality. I would be looking more for the best temperament than show quality.

Check on the "hatching eggs for sale" section. There should be some posted.​

There were a few posted; however, they were more expensive because they were all from SQ stock. I'll keep my eye on the auction threads though.

Check Ebay...there are always tons at varying costs.​

What are the biggest difference in buying a silkie egg or chic from one of the nicer stocks, say the 25-35 per 6+ hatching egg, and say someone online like cackle? How are the birds different?

If I had some I would send you some but I only have one laying now and the other one is a new momma. I have 2 people waiting on eggs it's never ending.​

Check with Tom (BYC name = kentuckysilkies). His website is kentuckysilkies.com. He has some very nice silkies that are pet quality simply because he mixes the colors.​

I have recieved eggs from Tom before. His eggs had great fertility and I hatched 30 out of 36 eggs from him. 3 of them I damaged by dropping one egg on two others and three were late quiters. The colors were awsome as well. I sold a few of them but kept back a couple.
The two greyish are from his flock.

Agreed! Kentuckysilkies has great eggs! Good fertility.
