Silkie thread!

I am not an expert but I would say you could get some of each. Some chicks with silkie feathering and some not. Maybe even some with a little of both??? Hopefully one of the gurus will come on and be able to answer this for you.
My little silkie/favorelle cross has the favorelle color & feathering on the body but a silkie poof on her head.

Well size doesnt matter as much to me as long as it is wider than longer, has prominences on it, and has a slight crease in the middle. I just dont like seeing a big wad of chewed up bubble gum on a chickens face! Remember, its a WALNUT comb!

Couldn't agree with you more joe!!!

Unfortunately, a very popular, large breeder has bubblegum combs on their roos...so it gets passed on everywhere

I am just trying to learn what would be more to standard for the combs. What would be acceptable and what would not be acceptable for the standard. Since I am new to silkies and these are my first ones, I wanted to know what would be the more acceptable comb type since they are so different.

Thanks!

I am wonder what two silkies you would breed to get cuckoo silkies. I really want some. Bad. Is it just black and white mix? They look so neat. Sorry if someone has already asked.

i have a pip in a cuckoo egg! I'm new to silkies, I'm guessing I'll only have a few since I have seramas already.
Can't wait for my eggs to hatch!!
