I won't be hatching anymore eggs for a while now. My brother is having heart surgery next month and DH isn't comfortable doing the incubating. So all my silkie, sizzle and frizzle eggs I will sell for $10 a dozen plus $15 for shipping. The money will go towards my travel to get there.

What I have is a pair of partridge's in a cage. In the silkie pen there is a black, white, blue, splash silkies and 2 white sizzles and 1 frizzle.

I recently hatched out 5 eggs from that pen. The splash isn't laying yet but she is sitting in the nest alot so I suppose she will start soon. I can't separate the colors other than the partridges because I usually don't know which laid them unless I happen to be out there when it happens. If thats the case the egg will be marked as to who laid it. I take paypal and money order. PM me if interested please.

I don't always check this thread so it's best to PM me.

I can usually send out 2 dozen a week. I really don't want to see these eggs go to waste. I will save them back in hopes they will sell. I always put the date collected so after 4 days they will get tossed since the shipping time will only make them older.

I store the eggs in my bedroom since I keep it cold in there to sleep better. They will be wrapped in bubble wrap. They are stored in a carton, not on their side.

i love silkies so my plans are to get some hatchey ones for incubators and then will get some show potential eggs to stick under them then go from there.

is that a good plan?
thanks Roo

Hello Silkie folks,
I am new to silkies. (I had a Silkie hatch from some "extra" eggs sent with an order of bantam cochins.) I probably wouldn't have bought a silkie, but my 6 year old daughter really loves her "bad-hair-day" chicken.
One of the things I have read about in determining the quality of a chick is "proper toe spacing". And I have no idea what that means. This chick has 5 toes on each foot, but one toe is much smaller than the others. Is that normal? I am including a pic of the feet. Is this considered proper spacing? The pic of the feet were taken today, but the other was taken a couple of weeks ago. Does anyone have a guess as to gender? There is no signs of waddles at all. (The cochins that are the same age have been easy to sex for a good month or more). They are all about 12-14 weeks old. (I hope it is a little girl because i will have no use for a silkie roo).

Thanks for any information you can give.
