He is a grey with autosomal red; she is a partridge.

Yes he is, but we all know that is what "people" are calling Calico

Not everyone; the term was originally used on silkies in reference to the splash with red, and is still used that way by a number of people.

JustAChickenLittle&More :

Do the roos hold their tail the same way? I have a litter of silkies and they are about a month old. They really look pretty big for silkies, but anyway, I'm trying to see if I can guess their gender. I notice that some of them have a beginning ridge comb and some have it smooth. Any suggestions on how to tell? Thanks.

I played the guessing game for months till the girls started laying eggs and the 1 roo started breeding them. I had 3 I thought where boys when in fact I had 1 roo and 7 girls. I've never lucked up like that before and i'm sure I never will again. Now I have to get a few more boys of certain colors so I can split them up by color.

I know that calling them that is not correct, I'm referring to the Dozen or so that I have seen at the shows I have attended this year, being shown as that. And having talked to the judges about these, they too have referred to them as Calico. So i would say that the "hobby" name for that color is Calico. Just like the porcelain silkie that EVERYONE knows should have a pattern to be a "true" porcelain is still called the by that name.
