Ya'll are way ahead of me I will be getting my first Silkies sometime in the spring, so excited too. and yes AllMyKIds that would be a great idea. then we could follow along.

Do the hens tend to have a fuller crest then the roos?

Sometimes just depends on quality of the birds. Better quality birds it's hard to tell roo's from hens because of such a large crest and small comb size.​

No matter where I have gotten my silkie chicks (hatchery wise, back in the day), I always lost a few within a few days of receiving them. I think they are just so fragile that the least little thing can cause them to get ill, and get worse. Hopefully your little guy will be alright. Have you tried feeding minced boiled egg?

That silkie died today. Yes, did try boiled egg, yogurt, vitamin water ... all kinds of things.

BTW: Will pm when eggs received.

You're funny! I have the ONE kid, human, that is, but I do have 4 goat kids! Thanks for the push. When I get it thought out and set up, I'll post.
