So, I bought me some BOSS today bc so many of you guys seem to use it. I'm guessing the chickens can crack them open or do they eat it whole?

What is BOSS? I have never heard of that. Is it for all chickens or what? Thanks for any replies

Ok, I'm 8 days in on my first batch of shipped eggs in the bator. Of course, we had a really bad storm last night, and as usual, the power goes out.

Out for 3 1/2 hours. The temp in the bator dropped to 83, humidity went up to 50%. Temp/humidity quickly reset when the power came back on. Question: so how sensitive/fragile are these Silkie eggs?? Do you think they will survive the outage? All the other hatches I've done when thepower went out, made the hatch late by a day or so. Will my Silkies come through this? Makes me ill...

Newbie question here (I haven't read all of these hundreds of pages) -

Is it possible to breed up some Giant Silkies? Furthermore, should such a thing be done?
