Silkie thread!

My showgirl chicks came from two white parents it's very odd what color they are now they look like little buff chicks but they are so cute I love hatching showgirl chicks. The little black neck showing is super cute.

Forgot to add how the foot feathering on these 4 week old chicks was looking???

Weee! I just found five silkies babies at the small animal swap to add to my five hatchery chicks! They're two weeks old--one week older than my babies. The colors are one buff, two white and two partridge! I'd never heard of partridge until this week then I found two! They seem happy and healthy--had one of those "shed stomach lining" poops and panicked for about half an hour, but no additional crises.

The one buff chick is so loud! I think it's the head hen/rooster of their little ragtag group lol. I'm gonna watch em for a few days then toss em to the wolves--my hatchery babies that is. As of now they're living in a plastic-bottom wire hamster cage in the bathtub. They seem content!

LOL terrified of showgirls, that's hilarious!
Yes, that little showgirl just might have converted me into a fan!

do you have to breed a certain way to get the showgirls, or do they just come from breeding together? they wouldnt do what frizzles do or anything? how would one create totally or more bare silkie?

The color is called Morehead and is being worked on in Europe to be standardized.

I think it is Moor, not More. But I am not sure whether the penciling is a part of it; it's been awhile since I looked at the sites (and photos) telling about it.
