Silkie thread!

I saw that some of the sites do use "moreheads," but I think it is a translation issue. In the original site it listed it as "blackhead project" and if you look at untranslated sites they use the word for black in their naming. This would be a great place for Henk to step in and comment.

Here is my lone black chick snuggled in for the night.

I think it is Moor, not More. But I am not sure whether the penciling is a part of it; it's been awhile since I looked at the sites (and photos) telling about it.

According to the European website
https://sites.google.com/site/zijde...out-chicken-color-genetics-heritage/moreheads

They call it Morehead, so since these breeders are working with this color & have coined the phrase, I just used their spelling.

oops didnt know that was the spelling of the name used, maybe they just liked it having "more" of a black "head".. so now when we write about saying i need "more head", when i come across them and want some, ill fell dirty and giggle like a school girl.

Sonoran you are the cats meow ~~~~ Thank you again -- I beleive you are the one that directed me to the other site when i had some questions . I really gained a lot from that site then . Thanks again and anyone who want s to read about basic genetics this is the place ~~~~ Tammy

Thought I would post some pics of some of my new Momma's.

I called it creaper gene since it creaped in outta no where haha, i wasnt sure what else to call it.
So i noticed today that my other chick that is a few days older has black feet now so they turned black, thankfully. The other one just hatched yesturday so ill keep an eye on it to see if its feet turn black. The older chick is non bearded and doesnt have nice toe feathers, the youngest has awesome toe feathers and is bearded.

any better pics of the grey and black showgirl in the first pic?

Yeap...here is one but she is a F1 chick so it will be awhile until my showgirls look like showgirls but I do love that little one. I can't wait to see what color and how she or he feathers out!
