any better pics of the grey and black showgirl in the first pic?

Yeap...here is one but she is a F1 chick so it will be awhile until my showgirls look like showgirls but I do love that little one. I can't wait to see what color and how she or he feathers out!

i wouldnt mind seeing some hens and cocks looking like him running around my yard, as think he looks perfect as chick anyway as is. id gladly let you send some extra eggs like what made him to get some. what are his parents looking like and what is the adult end result going for?

I will get some pics together of Mom and Dad as well as the chicks I had hatched so far from them. I only have 4 so far and each is different. I eventually want to create my showgirls working on type first then to work on color. I will get some new pics of the resulting chicks and post them for you. It will be a long project but I do need something to keep me busy and out of trouble!

I am new to this so I hope I can jump in and ask a question to all you silkie experts.......I just purchased three, two weeks ago. My oldest is a year old, and she might be molting. I wanted to ask if molting also causes what looks like little flecks of skin on the ends of the broken off feathers on the head? You are probably laughing of my lack of chicken "speak".

I think I know what you are talking about. When they grow new feathers, they get this clear tube thing that are called pin feathers. You can see a few pin feathers in the crest of this bird. My birds are molting now to and one of them has pin feathers all over their back.
