Nice videos. Connor is confident and doing a good job of showig off his birds. The bird in the first video is partridge, although I am not convinced that it is female. I cannot really tell from the way he is holding it, but I don't see as much penciling as a partridge female should have.
A couple of things that Connor is a bit incorrect on. The turquoise blue on the side of the head are the earlobes, not muffs. Muffs are in actually a part of the beard, extending up onto the side of the face. Also, both bearded and non-bearded silkie varieties are recognised. Bearded silkies have muffs; non-bearded do not. With the exception of self-blue, all recognised varieties are recognised in both bearded and non-bearded. If exhibiting, he will need to list whether the bird is bearded or non-bearded. Good luck!
Thanks for the corrections! He's learning and has just really focused on Silkies the last month or so. I passed along your comments and he'll be coming to the forum to learn more and post on his own. I doubt these are show birds and suspected that first bird was a partridge but wasn't sure. This are "his babies" so to speak - so he's learning. He wanted blues but we got these to give him hands on experience and get him to earn his blues (will be at Crossroads this year - he's doing jobs here to earn money to buy birds & rabbits). Two months ago he wasn't interested in showing just liked silkies. lol now it's changing. These birds he has may develop to be "just incubators" as he gets good birds and starts breeding. He got a few eggs to hatch and a black chick hatched Friday - unfortunately it died this morning. Appreciate the comments!
A side note - we'll be in AZ this weekend.
