Silkie thread!

Well, I thought I had a cute little black 7 month old cockerel. Even has longer feathers coming in the crest.

It laid an egg yesterday!!!!!!

Guess those longer feathers are not streamers....

We had the same thing here a few years ago.Our Black Cockeral had won a lot, even a RB, then layed his first egg a week later, and the next week went BV at the Ohio National! Just goes to show, in Silkies you can never tell if they are facing you or walking away, male or female, until HE lays an egg!

Our girls (at least i think they are girls lol)

Good job I didnt want them for their eggs then lol. Would it cause problems if they are all boys keeping them all together? I know roos can be rather feisty.

They are way too young to tell for sure, and maybe being beardless is throwing me... But if they are all males they will get along together fine.

I keep all my roos together too, they get along fine, take turns crowing, lol. Im wondering how you tell your babies apart???
