I see what you're talking about now. I didn't notice that. I was counting toes, looking at head puffs and feet fluff, but never paid much attention to the comb. I wasn't aware you could see that so soon. Thanks for the info! That happens to be the smallest one and was the last one to hatch.

Yeah, it is very interesting, especially since there were no birds in the flock that had any red. I asked the person I got the eggs from about it, and she'd never seen anything like it.

How can you tell anything about the comb already? They're so tiny!

Thank you! You have some beautiful birds! Especially those splash ones you posted

I agree, looking at your picture, mine looks like a light blue just like that. The red spot is so odd though, I like it. I primarily have paint silkies - always found those spots to be adorable!

I don't understand a whole lot about the genetics of it though, it's just a hobby for me. Paints seem to be a bit of a genetic mystery too from what I read. I can't help but wonder what this kind of orange leakage crossed with a paint could create? Hmmmm.....

blue dont breed true there a lot thing that come up when ur breeding blues hect we got blue partrdge out plash to blue breeding

Interesting. I've never gotten anything other than blue, black or splash from my BBS pen. I wouldn't really mind something different once in a while I suppose. Haha.

I have a black silkie roo over a blue hen. They have been hatching out blue and blacks. But I have four or five that are feathering out on their necks differently. here is some pics. The pics were taken several weeks ago and the coloring is still the same today.

I'd bathe on Thursday then.

Good Luck at the show.
