Congratulations on the new babies! I hope the little guy makes it. I may have to come and get more eggs the first week of November. None of my white ones made it! My fault, cause I kept opening the 'bator lid. Well, I wrote myself a big note in Sharpie marker on the lid to remind me to keep my hands out of there until they're completely dry or a week past hatch date!
Your silkies are so gorgeous. I have two little Sizzles and several regular Silkies out of the last batch. Black ones and blue ones! The blues will fit right in with all the splashes I have, and I just love the black ones. They have so many feathers on their legs! I think I have a little Fancy Pants or two. I'll try to catch them when they're still (a difficult task) and get some pics for you.
Cross fingers again for the little fluffy who pipped the vein.
kay so i have about 9 mystery chicks hatch last week. all summer i have hatched about 15 chicks all have been white, so when the first odd ball chick hatched i was so suprised and i was even more suprised when 8 more hatched right after that one. they are grey with white under their beaks, feet feathers, and on the tips of wings, all of them look like this. adult birds i have 1 white rooster, 1 blue rooster, 1 black rooster. 2 white hens, 2 black hens. im pretty sure the white roo is the father he is alpa and NO ONE else is allowed to mate with HIS hens, and the black roo is like 4 months anyways and just getting interested with the hens. (i know i have bad male to female ratio, working on that) what could these chicks be, i was thinking blue but i didnt think blue chicks had white on them.
Hi all silkie lovers out there. I would like get some opinions on these silkies? I bought them for my wife when they were a week old. I have a pair of slash, white and I think they are considered black. She doesn't have time for them and I have my cochins. The silkies have never grown on me. I would like to have more room for my cochins. They are not laying yet, but should start anyday now. I guess what I would like to know is, are they worth trying to sell or give away? Are they poor quality or good? Anyone in central florida wanting some silkies? Thank you for your time.
Someone will definately want them. I do not show but do like my silkie to be the best Quality I can afford. There are many people just getting into chickens and would LOVE to have these silkies. List them in the Auction area on BYC and put NO SHIPPING,
I would buy them if closer to you. You can even put a Buy it Now price. NOT EVERYONE HAS TIME TO SHOW and just want to enjoy some beautiful Silkie!
