o ok this works better too if u do it from like there babys right

Yeah, some never get used to it, but most do. If you hold them securely, and they feel balanced in your hands, don't fight it.

i just wanted to know cause ive had chickens for a year now and i love them but some just run when u get close but most of my silkies let me pick them up

I spend at least an hour a day with mine - talking to them, petting them, offering treats, picking them up, etc. Almost all of them will fly up to sit on the edge of the brooder or my arm for extra love. I only have a couple that are "chicken." Some just look at me and "talk" to me. The Silkies will even "purr" when they are falling asleep on my chest on the couch. It's just getting them there that's the issue. Silly birds!

i think some chickens just do not like it and are more difficult to tame. I can pick up most of my chickens but there are a few that are too fast for me. The girls are easier when they start laying because they squat when you go to pick them up. I also find the roos a little easier to get. Enjoy the ones that you can pick up easily and keep working gradually on the others.

on the couch are they in ur house

All 18 of my chickens are in my house. My coop isn't finished yet! (see my BYC page.)

I bring 1-4 upstairs occasionally to play on the family room floor or to watch TV with me on the couch.

It's one of my Blue (Splash) Silkies, Misty. I have an even smaller dark blue Silkie and 2 larger white Silkies. All were hatched August 1st.

They are in my brooder in the basement. My 2 SQ Quail D'Anvers are in a separate cage in the basement.

Anyone have a spare cage I can borrow for my 4 Silkies, until the coop is done, so they are not so crowded???
