Yes, you will find hard feathers in the wings and tails of the boys. The fewer, the better. In more time as they get older, the wing feathers will "shred". It will look like someone sliced them with scissors!

They are both the same for many months.

Here's a picture of one of mine at 12 days. You can see that the new wing feathers look kind of hard.

That's what mine are starting to look like. Not thatany feathers yet though.
