Silkie thread!

URG! i was wondering wat ever happened to my white silkie eggs i bought and i was just about to email the breeder to see if she ever shipped them and then my dad found them in the garage!!!! the post office threw them in the corner of our garage!!!!!! without leaving a note or something to let us know about them. i have no idea how long theyve been out there!!!!!

OMG!!!! That is soooo awful!!! When were they supposed to arrive? It's been cool enough that they might be okay.

I just hatched my first Silkies (12) on Feb. 25th. Right now I have 68 in the bator and another 58 eggs, on the way here. I am hoping for some real beauties. I hope to be able to one day show and also donate to the local 4-h groups. Couldn't believe it when we went to the local poultry show and not one silkie was shown. I have always been a fan of the breed, and now I have some of my own. I feel like a proud mama hen

Well I hope that you found them in time to get them in the incubator. Needless to say. They have rested long enough, and it's been cold, hopefully not freezing where you are. I would love to hear a follow up story from you. How long they sat there. How well the hatch went, ect. Good luck. I hope it goes well for you.

How could I forget sunflower seeds! I hand them out twice a day and they are gone in an instant!

Hawkeye, I candled my most recent batch of eggs by my roo and 8 out of 9 were developing!

OMGosh, you're kidding!!! That is fabulous!!!! I'm sooooo excited for you!!

What day are they on now?? Good luck and I hope they all hatch!!!

I think I'm resigned to doing the AI, I still haven't done it. This last batch of eggs in my incubator are clear, I believe. They are on Day15, and I see nada.

Ah well. Wish me luck! LOL Hey... can you take pictures of your candling??? I would love to see what they look like. I know that's not an easy task, so don't worry about it if you can't. My only hope left are the Rosecombs I have in there now--- going to cross my fingers SOMEthing is developing. I'm not going to candle until they are a few days older-- they are teeny tiny and I don't want to handle them too much.

looks like a nice crest and wings.... but the picture is blurry and hard to see anything else. Can you bring her in and set her on something and get a picture of her from the front and side and show her feet? You'll get a LOT more comments then. I think people just don't know what to say since they can't really see her.

oh no! That's terrible! I'd throw them in the incubator immediately and hope for the best. Do you raise black Rosecombs? I got some eggs shipped to me by someone on here that shows them. They are in the incubator right now.
