I live in Connecticut how far are you from the border? I can give you a nice breeder quality cockerel if you'd like. I have A nice Blue Boy or a Buff Boy

I've driven a whole heck of a lot farther than that to pick up. That will give you a good start!

Looks like my Silkie, Nugget is going to be a Splash? The guy I bought him/her from only had white and buff Silkies. Is that normal to see other colors from the ones bred? Nugget is a real sweetheart and cry baby. Always wants to be in our lap or tucked away in my shirt. LOL

Hi 3 Birds! Great to have another S. CA on here! Your chick looks white to me. Maybe it's just my eyes. They aren't very good!

Hi and thanks! It's kinda hard to see I guess but there is some grey in there. The flash from the camera washes it out. Here are two without the flash, only problem is my camera doesn't like to focus that well without the flash. siigh I can't win. LOL

White chicks often have a grey or yellow cast until they feather out. You should know more in another week of so. Also some whites have a silver gene that gives a permanent pale silver cast to the feathers. I think it's very pretty but not sure if it hinders showing. I actually shouldn't even answer your question as I am no expert but I always hate to see peoples question's go unanswered for more than four seconds!
