Silkie thread!

THANK YOU everyone!!! I can barely contain my excitement!!!
and on updating... Oh I will! I will!! LOL I'm soooooo excited! I have to get kids at the bus stop and then drag a kid to piano tonight, but I'll be back to update any progress!!! I have never had an egg hatch before, so I don't know how long this process takes. I'm thinking several hours??? Anyway, They are in a wire kennel and I'm going to need to put cardboard all around the lower portion of it so the chick doesn't escape. Maybe tonight-- I can't imagine it will be ready to run around tonight-- it may not even be hatched yet? Anyway, later!!!

Don't get worried. It can take more than 24 hours after pipping. :)

Hey folks!

I am curious as to how to breed darker lavander if what I have currently seems to hatch as a self-blue and then feathers out to an -almost- white... Its more slivery white then then white... But what can I breed them to, for a darker lav?

Here is a new lav chick we just hatched out, now about a week old.

So my Nugget has been making weird noises. He/she purs or makes this calling out noise. It doesn't sound like a crow. It's like an alarm or something. LOL I took this picture of Nugget and right after Nugget started with the pur noise. Has anyone else experienced that? Does it mean anything? lol
