Silkie thread!

I'm going to check with the store where I got them at 3:00 est time. The guy who should know about them will be in then.

Here are my two older buff girls. They are not going to be in our breeding program but instead were purchased as pets for my little boy (age 5). He adores them.

Here is Buffy (yep, he named them...) She is a year old and is very dark, almost reddish in person.

And here is Tweety. She is 3 months old

Buffs aren't really my thing, but they make him happy. And they are very sweet.

Ok I cannot decide how many hens/ roos I have!! There is a man who is buying all my roosters but wants two hens. My question is I have 3 roosters with redder combs but there is another one that Im not sure about. It seems like all but 2 of them have little long streamers coming out the back of their heads. Do hens get this too? Also I have some that have long wirey feathers coming down their necks. Does that mean roo?

Please help! I dont want to sell hens....

Hen?

Rooster? I have 2 that look this and then one partridge. But my blacks are getting streamers but no combs!

So frustrating!

1 Hen and 2 roo. how old are they? post pictures of the others, they can be difficult to sex and what you think may be streamers could be the girls' crests filling in...

oh you got them from a feed store? they could be silkies, hatchery quality silkies can have 4 toes instead of five, wrong skin color, splotchy skin color, little to no crest, no beard, etc etc. That or the chicks are actually cochins or Sultans. what color are they? do they have 4 or 5 toes? Sultans have a bump on the head, 5 toes, and feathered legs like a silkie just do not have black skin (yellow/pink)
