Elliemae,

Look at my two photos above and then at my avatar. Paints above (white with dark spots). Splash in my avatar.

These are mine-- they are all Splash. They have a more grey or blue look to their over all coat with spots. The Paints are all white with spots.

Think of a paint as dalmation spots

I guess I'll have to get a couple good pictures of my Cotton bird. She (I think she's a she) is pure white with dark spots. I thought I'd read that paints are spotted from the skin, and I'm not sure she is...but she looks almost exactly like Mama's birds rather than Hawkeyes. Soooo confused!!

I had a lady come by today DETERMINED to get a "pair" of silkies from me!
I simply don't like all these people coming around asking for the silkies.
My plan was to have the chicks for the enjoyment, not to turn around and sell them.
However, once they're older, and I know who's a boy and girl, and what colors I have.
I was planning on picking out one, at least, for myself to keep.
Then, whatever is remaining, I was planning on trying to find them homes locally.
But before they even laid eggs and sit on them, I've had people interested.
All I have to say is I can't remember everyone that's asked.
And I can't guarantee all these people a "girl and boy."

I don't even know why this upsets me so, but it does?! It's just not my day!

I have a splash chick that looks like a paint. If I didn't own it's parents I would be wondering.

I sold my first batch of Silkie eggs on e-bay. I was so excited!!! I got $17.50 for 10+ eggs. First time ever selling eggs so I was pretty psyched!

Do any of you know anything about the color Calico in Silkies? I have 3 eggs in the bator that are calico. I also have 2 Porcelain and if they turn out as pretty as yoie's baby I will be pretty excited.

I will be excited with whatever colors I get.
