I have a splash chick that looks like a paint. If I didn't own it's parents I would be wondering.

These are mine-- they are all Splash. They have a more grey or blue look to their over all coat with spots. The Paints are all white with spots.

And they are soooo lovely!!!

Anyone know how 2 roos would be together? Am I just asking for trouble?

I have 2 blue silkie roos that have lived together always and for the most part, they get along great. They now have girls and are still getting along. They don't like the other boys in adjoining pens. If it's 2 chicks that will always be together, they could do fine. If they are split up and reunited, you'll always want to be careful.

Thanks! Yeah, it's already really dark and gloomy here today. It's sprinkled off and on, but it still looks like we're in for it later on this afternoon/evening. They are still predicting tornados for our area. They typically don't like to give predictions that early, but it's been just right for that kind of weather. We had gotten warm, and then had a cold front pull thru the last week. Then we got really warm... and now this front is coming in. Unfortunately, that's going to be a bad mix, and perfect conditions. I hope this all passes over with not much action. But we're already prepared for it just in case. Since we're in Kansas, practically everyone here has a basement... but the people in Oklahoma don't build basements under their homes (the ground is not conducive to it) and so it's going to be a lot more dangerous for them if they have to run outside to a cellar. Thank you for thinking of us! There's only been one time it was so serious that I opened up all the gates to the pastures so the large animals could escape if they needed to. Caught them all up later.

You will have to take my word that this chick is white because the black skin showing thru and the flash are changing it's color. It is all white except for two black spots that just started to come in about four days ago. I have both parents and they are blue. The chick is 3 weeks.

OIC. Ok, I know about the genetics behind the blue/ black/splash, but what are the genetics behind the paints?
