Silkie thread!

Boy have I gotten behind!
BarnGodess I KNOW what you mean! I have some that love the bath and all of them love the blow dryer. What cracks me up is
the "sideways Tim Conway" as I call it...they love the warmth but feel they need to move away so they go sideways in wee little steps! Too cute.
Hawkeye glad you are okay! and Scared - love your partridge! As usual, thanks for the education and entertainment!
BTW I went to my first show Saturday and there wasn't one white silkie!!! Poo!

Oh no, that's too bad you didn't see any white! We missed a show we were going to attend yesterday. Decided against going, since it's nearly a 2 hour drive down there and I didn't want to get caught in a storm so far from home. I was totally bummed about that. But then I heard after wards that night that a lot of people didn't show, as people from OK and the surrounding areas didn't want to chance the weather, either. SO maybe I didn't miss much.

There will be another one in Fall. This is a big one for our State and they hold it at the State Fair grounds. It's supposed to be twice a year-- Spring and Fall. I wish we had more poultry shows other than our 4-H shows. For being an agriculture based state, it doesn't seem like we have a lot of poultry people... but perhaps I am wrong and just haven't found where they are all going.

Have to show y'all my favorite little chick. She is a month old tomorrow. She is a black from paint and I just adore her! Her name is Yin.

Love her tail already! I think it is awesome on a one month old.

I notice today that she has a white spot on each wing. Not sure what to make of that.

My solid paint chicks had a little white on them in various places also. That's a pretty little "girl" but may end up being a handsome "boy".

Peep, did they keep them after the molt?

You know, I do hope she is a she, but if she is a he it won't be the end of the world. I still have a gorgeous paint hen to take him back to

I just happen to love this one best of all and I am really not sure why. Just something about her/him!

I didn't keep them long, only two weeks. They were nice chicks too. I wish I had kept them. I was discouraged because I didn't get any paints so I sold them. Yes, a paint pen will be perfect for him/her!

Oh, that is fatastic news! That your are safe, and also that your incubator woes have worked themselves out! Can't wait to see pics of your babies!

Did the people from OK check in with anyone yet? Obviously we are okay. We were very close to the path of the tornado that was a mile wide. It dissipated before it got to us. But then, where it stopped, skipped a bit and then another one formed just north of us. We were lucky-- nothing got too close. But the new one that started wrapping up north of us shook the house and sounded insanely loud. We have a bit of clean up to do-- our lawn in now a mess. But otherwise, all is well! :) Those that were in the path lost roofs, homes and vehicles. No one died, and we had over 90 tornadoes spotted and recorded in the state of Kansas. Wild night.

BTW-- my eggs in my incubator are developing and growing!! SO it looks like I got my incubator figured out finally!

What is everyones opinion on bearded vs non-bearded silkies as far as showing? I haven't been able to get any straight answers...

Hey, April! Cute chickies!
