Why when I upload a photo that is right side up it turns it sideways? Is there a way to correct that?
I am not sure about how to correct the sideways problem with your pics, but the first one is not a silkie. Maybe a silkieX. She is pretty though. I love the coloring!Yes she's pretty but she's not a Silkie.
She's probably a Sizzle.
Sizzles are a new breed in the making. It started with a frizzled Cochin crossed with a Silkie, I think a Sizzle is supposed to look like a Silkie - have black skin, 5 toes, a crest, but have Cochin feathers - either smooth, which is what yours is, or frizzle. I'm not a Sizzle breeder so I could be wrong! There is a Sizzle thread on BYC, do a search and you'll find it.
Your white and your black are Silkies, I would say your other bird is a blue Sizzle.![]()
yeah, I have this happen too. Did you edit it and flip it upright BEFORE you uploaded it? I would do that, and if it still turns it, then go back and flip it back to it's original position and upload it that way. I never know how the loader is going to flip them. But I have it happen all the time on my vertical formats. Also, I'm NOT thinking sizzle-- they have their feathers that stick up and they don't lay down, these feathers on your bird lay down. She is a pretty bird, but definitely NOT a silkie. However, she has blue earlobes, so I'm going to guess she is a silkie cross with a Houdan. I've seen a few Houdan X Silkie crosses and they look kind of like yours. Houdans also have 5 toes (like a silkie) and they have a crest. That's my guess.. but she could be crossed with anything, honestly. She's a unique bird, so hey, nothing wrong with having some eye candy in the yard. Why when I upload a photo that is right side up it turns it sideways? Is there a way to correct that?
You know, I just have to say I think Silkie people are just about the nicest people in some of the forums. You are all so helpful and complimentary towards newbies and some not so new. I really appreciate that you take the time to respond to folks inquiries. I think it may have something to do with the breed we're drawn to - you know - sweet, gentle birds that just today I was thinking are like the lapdogs of the chicken world. I think Silkies attract sweet, gentle people. I could be wrong. Maybe I'm just overly optimistic because the sun is shining right now in the Northwest...![]()
