Silkie thread!

Beautiful! What a fluff ball!
Awwww! I love those fluffy white angels!!!

Thanks both. Apologies for the pictures of this white silkie. He/she is the best looking out of the 5 that I have, and I am amazed really as he/she is a hatchery baby. The blue and buff are not so cute.

See I have 24 gorgeous breeder bloodline eggs in the incubator right now--lock down starting today!-- and I hope to have some new better looking silkies very soon.
Thing is, there is the chance that none of the eggs will hatch....so I don't want to get rid of the ones I have yet. Especially the two whites I have since they're the best looking so far.

I thought this white was a boy, but I am not so sure anymore. Nevertheless, he/she is sure a fluff ball. Not so bad for a hatchery one, eh? Or does he/she look just terrible, LOL??? [I only want nice pet silkies--I don't plan to breed or show].

One more pix..... :)

Here's the silkies she pulled for me to pick from, what do you guys think? I may get a few others to look at too.

There not the best pictures. I go look at them today. :) I'm only going to get two or three and hopefully no Roos. If you see one that looks like a Roo please let me know.

so after i had posted about thinking my baby had a chill i went in the living room to watch some TV while he dried off. he stopped shivering and his breathing became quieter and he fell asleep. after a little bit he wiggled out of the towel. i spread the towel out and set him on it. when he was completely dry i put her on it. this morning he is bright and happy on my lap.

i am going to take him swimming again some time. he loved it. the first time he swam for the shore. the second time i put her in the water she followed me around so i swam with her. it was cute, when you take her out of the water she continues to paddle her feet like she is still swimming.

Yes, temp is a pretty steady 99.5--not varying by .5 at any time. I put sponges, cups, washcloths---but, will try to do something more/different. Day 19 has been my last hatches--I have waited for internal pipping to lock down.
If you are hatching on day 19 your thermometer is off and reading low. 99.5 will give you a hatch on day 21.

Last week I purchased my very first chicken, a little Silkie we now call Vern (eventhough we don't know if it's a he or she lol)

My boyfriend was totally against me getting a chicken and pretty much thought it was a stupid idea to have one as a pet. After almost a week, poor little Vern was pretty lonely and wanted held ALL DAY (which I didn't mind a bit!). This, however, was an excellent excuse to talk Boyfriend into getting Vern a playmate :0) During the week we have had him, he must have made a really good impression because I was able to buy two more instead of one!

We just got them yesterday, but I am in love already! They are so lovable! I'm so excited about our new additions and can't wait until they get older!
