Silkie thread!

Is it common that you need to trim up a silkie beak? they are so curved compared to my standards. I have cement blocks and plenty rocks in the run now, but its still long and I trimmed it when she was 3 mo. that was a mo. ago

u clip or grind? I used a dog toenail clippers

Clip, but I just ground one the other day, I would prefer it but I have to bring them to work with me to do it. So I will clip them until the show and grind them before the show.

This color seems to be popping up alot out of paint pens. Very similar to Dwegg's 'frosted' paint girls. Karen Larson of Catdance is the first and most prelific (sp?) producer of these colored birds and folks have called them creamsicles. You could show AOV but put a name to the color "frosted" "creamsicle" etc. for some ideas if you were to decide to show.

I just looked at her website but she doesn't have any mention of creamsicles or frosted?

janine i did have a couple chicks hatch this year with this it was weird i probley sold most of them but tommorow ill check my grow out pen and see what remains im down to 6 whites and plan to cut 1 of the roos which will leave me with a trio the other 2 are still to young to sex but ill try to find a pic

My Catdance eggs arrived, safe and sound...super packing job.

They are now cooking and I'm ancy for the end of the weekend to check for growth.

Here's what I have in the bator:
3 black, 5 paint, 4 lavender (from two different pens), 4 porcelain (from two different pens), 4 buff, 6 blue/splash (from two different pens), and 6 white (from three different pens).
21 days is such a long wait!

I have silkies and sizzles in the bator I'm only on day 11 with 15 eggs I'm not sure what colors as it was a mixed pen so it will be a surprise.
