Silkie thread!

I have 2 white roos, a full silkie and a SG, they free range every day eat a 50/50 mix of flock raiser and scratch grains, the only yellowing I see is on my full silkie, and it's only on his head, feet and tail. When I bathe him it comes out. I think its just from the way he eats and how he is kept. He is the low man on the totem pole so I don't think that helps much either.
ya i was hoping the same thing as im showing both wihites this weekend so i gave them a bath yesterday and still have some so no doubt they look much better and brighter just hope they dont lose to much points for it.

Did you bathe them with the blue shampoo for poodles? I find that helps. At least with my poodle it does. She looks so white when I bathe her with it :)

What age do silkie Roosters start to crow?
silkies or any other chicken for that matter can crow at any time i have a sizzle chick that started crowin at 3 weeks it was just priceless

but normally they will start between 5 to 8 months atleast my silkies do anyway some occasionally crow sooner. id say roos sure mature before hens crowing and trying to mate the pullets before the even lay eggs

The two that you've marked as nothing there, I'd agree. I'd pull them and dispose of them. The one marked partridge is also questionable, but I'd leave it in as long as it doesn't doesn't smell or start to weep. It may just be the photo doesn't show the developing chick very well.

Good luck.

Deb
Deb ~ It is the photo...That eggs really does look like the others. I was in such a hurry so that they wouldn't be gone long from my hen that I just didn't get a good picture of it. Thanks
