Silkie thread!

wat do yall recomend to do for wry neck?
I had wry neck in two of my chicks 6 months ago. The cure all for this is children's brand POLY-VI-SOL WITH OUT IRON. Also add VITAMIN E OIL and SELENIUM. Mix this all up crushing the SELENIUM and breaking open the VITAMIN E OIL with the POLY-VI-SOL WITH OUT IRON, and put it in a dropper. Hold the chick and drop a couple of drops under their tongue and make sure they swallow it. Do this 2-3 times a day until the wry neck is gone. This will work very well for you as it did me. Keep us posted and blessings.

is the regular acv at grocery stores unpasturized
I use BRAGG brand also. My Kroger store carries it in the health food section. It is really good for your chickens and for you! If you drink a glass of water with BRAGG AND HONEY in it you will be much more healthy. It aids in digestion, energy, sinus, etc. Great item to have in your pantry! Personally I would stay away from Heinz because they are part of the Monsanto GMO foods. That's is genetically modified. I can't imagine the apples used by Heinz aren't full of chemicals. BRAGGS IS NOT. Just FYI.

Thank you, hstlwombat. Yes, I really like him. Chances are, I'll get to keep him because people around here probably won't pay $50 for both roosters. The most I've ever gotten for a silkie roo was $15. It's mostly my 11 year old son that is complaining about him crowing so early in the morning. (

Sometimes it's 2:30 or 4:30 am) Maybe I should get him some earplugs!!

I'm really hoping that he'll breed Mysty Blue........he's sure tried. I've seen both roosters on top of her, but her eggs are unfertile. Mysty Blue is so goofy. She'll stand up to him and peck as high as she can reach (which is his chest). I know she doesn't hurt him, but he kindly bows away and leaves her alone. I suppose it's better that she is dominant rather than getting over-breed by both boys.

Mysty Blue and Leo Pierre are both the sweetest chickens. They are the ones that run up to see me whenever I'm near their pen. They wait by my feet for their turn to be picked up and cuddled. I know Mysty Blue thinks I'M the top rooster, but I just can't ignore her.
Are you keeping him in the pitch dark? He shouldn't crow unless he sees light somewhere....

thanx do u think acv and the regular vitamin and electrolyte supplements in water will work fine?

when it is at the bloody poop phase, can it ever go away on its own? I didn't think so. but by the time I got more corid and I wanted to make sure it wasn't a fluke thin,g I saw it for 3 days. and now I see nothing!
If it is ever at the stage where you see signs of it, you need to treat, and usually pretty rapidly. Since you have used corrid twice, you should use sulmet instead. Rotating products (and using them correctly) helps prevent microorganisms from becoming immune to the treatment, thus rendering it ineffective.

Any time birds are stressed, their systems can get out of balance and the bad stuff can get out of control. Some birds are more sensitive to things like this than others.
