silkie with bent feet

I've just hatched out a few silkie babies, one of them has bent feet. It's not just toes, but the whole foot on both legs. The feet are curved inward and appear

:(to be underneath the chick. It has been around 12 hours since hatching and the little thing, although strong, can't really seem to get around too well. I'm trying the bandage method right now, with "orthopedic" shoes made out of thin cardboard. Any other suggestions? We would hate to have to put it down, but if it can't walk like a normal chicken, that's only right.

I've had very good luck with the shoe and bandage. Usually you see improvement in a day I usually leave it on until it falls off although the last one I made was with duck tape and I had to remove it say about a week, duck tape stay on better than medical tape
