I clean up my silkie's butt using baby wipe and baby oil (about every other day for two weeks now).

Last night I noticed that there were thin and clear "scale" like things (like fish scales) around her butt.

Is this normal?

Is this from the baby oil I used?

Or is it something else? >,<

Thank you very much in advance!

Sounds like a possible parasite.
You should re post this in the "Emergencies / Diseases / Injuries and Cures" section
and include more details (age of chicken, diet, environment, etc.) and some pics would help too.

I'll take a pic tonight if she still has it.

Sounds like this is not normal, though, so I'll keep an eye out.

Silkie Bantam:
~2 weeks old, going on 3 weeks.
In brooder (pine shavings, ~80 Degress Fahrenheit from a red 100W bulb) with two other chicks of ~same age (Dorking and Easter Egger).
Starter Feed, some grit (free choice vegetable baby food ignored).

I think it was because I applied a little bit of Eucerin Aquaphor Healing Ointment (this is what we use instead of Vaseline), but I'm not sure.

The other two chicks doesn't have this problem (and doesn't need me to clean their butt for them).

I actually scour the brooder once a day to clean it out of as much poop as I can find.

Thank you very much for the replies and the welcome!
