Silkied D’Uccles Project

Pics
I've been reading through this thread, and I'm so interested in what you're doing! I've got a Porcelain d'Uccle (I think, though one person said they thought self blue) that is 4 weeks now, and a silkie that I just got on Sunday that I reckon is maybe a week? I also think I've got a Mille Fleur d'Uccle, also bought on Sunday.

I definitely don't want to hijack your thread, but I wanted to ask if you would mind looking at my chick and seeing if you might be able to tell me if he or she is in fact a Mille Fleur d'Uccle? I would love an expert's thoughts!

I am very interested in breeding my 2 d'Uccles together (if that's what they both are), and I'm considering breeding my d'Uccles to my cochins. The one lone silkie was technically an accident, they only had 4 bantams left and I got them all. I love the bird, I just was surprised to find those 5 toes, lol.

I don’t mind taking a look!

Thank you so much! This is Quinn. I got Quinn on Sunday from the bantam bin at Rural King, and he or she is so tiny. I didn't realize at first (just can't see down into those bins) that the feet are feathered. But I was pretty excited to see that they are.

That’s a Millie fleur

Hi everyone! Long time no see… I know. Life’s been busy and is about to make a HUGE turn. I have begun the process of becoming a United Staes Marine. So it’ll be awhile until I start back on my projects. My parents have agreed to keep some of my chickens but I can’t guarantee they will still be alive once I get my own farm. But I will use the years of learning from this group and breeding through trial and error to either restart or continue with the birds that I may have. And now that a know more about genetics and sop I can improve my projects if I have to start over. I will have the knowledge to know how. I don’t plan on my chicken journey to end. Just take a pause for a few years.

For the silkied duccles project I only have my F1 rooster left. My hen was killed. And this year for some reason my eggs would not hatch. My chickens would not lay. Very weird. And if I did get chicks from any breed the would get eaten by something. Probably a snake.

So when I come back I plan to breed him to a Millie fleur duccle and go from there. If he is no longer alive I will probably get a buff silkie from the feed store that is single combed and breed it to a good quality Mille fleur and go from there.
