My birds are 16 weeks. I have raised them indoors since they olds and have been taking them outside during daytime weather for preparation to sleep in coop since they could tolerate 65 degrees without a heater. They’d been indoors at night since we got them. Can 6 silkies sleep out at night in low 40’s in an egloo coop yet? We’re in Los Angeles. Am I being a helicopter mother hen? Not ever raised babies before. But lost a baby duck when I was 9 in summer camp because they made me leave it outside and it froze to death.

I'd say they should be fine, they got each other for warmth and they are feathered, and they're older than most chickens are when they can be outside in colder temperatures, chickens will surprise you with how well they handle temperatures, they are beautiful silkies you have!
