Your right though. The chickens loves them.

Actually I have some boulders (about 25) in my pasture right now, so no thanks. The utility crew left them there after they dug a sewer line in a right of way. But your boulders are "nicer-shaped" than mine are, and are incorporated into your landscape and are used by your chickens...! Mine are just sitting in a pile.

My little DD sure did enjoy watching! She did get concerned several times about the Silkie, however. She thought that the Silkie was yelling and that you were kicking it!

I remembered seeing the Evil Silkie post somewhere and just had to find it and add my agreement!

After unloading a new ton of sand into our run and spreading it all out nice and pretty....my daughter (who is 16) flops down in the sand on her tummy to chat with the chickens. As she's talking to one of our 13 week old black Silkies, s/he wanders over to her. Turning his/her head back and forth looking at her, probably wondering why in the heck she is doing down on his/her level. Without warning, s/he runs the last couple steps and pecks my daughter right in the eye!!

I don't know who is dingier, my DD or the Evil-Eye-Eating Silkie! (btw I adore my adorable Silkies!)

Once I made sure my daughter could still see, we got a good chuckle out of it. There are some red marks in the white on both sides of her eyeball, but she says she can see fine, just stings a little. I've warned my kids about what to do and not do with and around the chickens, but apparently I forgot to cover the 'don't stick your face near the ground in the chicken run'!! Kids!!
