silkies boys or girls

Silkies are so hard to tell... The guy I bought mine from has been breeding and raising them forever (can't remember if it was 30 or 50 years, but a long time) and he was sure he gave me 2 pullets and a roo, well lucky me I ended up with 3 pullets

Golly, I won't be any help! They all look alike to me, never can see any way to sex a Silkie before it's a year old. I just dont get it. Oh, well, I'll never have any so I guess it doesn't matter, but I just am lost when it comes to that breed.

I know nothing about silkies. I just got 4 from MyPets and 3 were suppose to be female and 1 male.

I know the polish breeders tell me that females have a rounder crest and males have a longer skinnier crest.

They are just beautiful.

Here's an article from the American Silkie Bantam Club about sexing silkies. Doesn't sound like it's an exact science. And it also sounds like many of us have to wait until they are mature birds.
