I have some hatchery Lavendars that have the color and that is it. I have an excellent splash roo (Lavendar gene) with all the right stuff, any ideas on how a breeding of these two might turn out? Hatchery bird has fairly good toes.

Ideas??

I say you have to start from somewhere and with what you have available.

I would try it once and see how they turned out. I would think that it would take you awhile and lots of culling.

F1 cross would be blue chicks carrying lav. Cross back to the lav parent and you will get half blue lavenders and half lavenders.

Breed them to en excellent SQ Black Roo and you will do better. Then if you get a nicer quality Lavender cockerel, breed him to some top SQ Black girls. They should get better each generation.

Thanks. Just so happens, I do have a nice black rooster! Just not old enough yet. Guess I will keep my ugly ones a little longer and see what happens!
