I have 11 week old silkies. They have been outside for two weeks. This is our second flock. I have a standard flock of 6 that’s in a seperate coop and they are 5 years old. I recently got silkie chicks bc I have one silkie in my standard flock. (I can’t combine her with the silkies yet because of mites(working on that)) but it took a couple days for the my silkie chicks to figure out how to come out of the coop in the morning but at night they just huddle in the corner of the run when it gets dark. I pick them up and put them on the ramp and slowly push them up so they try and understand to go in at night. Is there anything else I can do or is it the waiting game?? It wasn’t like this with my first flock, they seemed to get it down the first night.

Ignore the picture I couldn’t post unless there was a picture but they do sleep on the floor which I’m fine with. But they huddle like this outside.

Chicks are kinda dumb when it comes to coop training. One thing that may help is having a light inside the coop so when it gets dark they will go inside more easily. Rigging up a timer or simply manually turning the light off when you close them in should be good enough. I think oftentimes they are unable to see well enough to go inside a coop, this may be especially true for crested birds who have too much fluff covering their eyes.

Thank you!! They also aren’t a fan of the ramp and are getting used to that as well. I’m going to try and light thing!! Maybe a solar power light and then just turn it off myself!! I’ll try that thank you!!

It sounds like you are doing what you can. Once one gets the hang of going up that ramp the others should follow. Keep physically walking them up the ramp and make sure they can see through the crests.
Not all Silkies learn to roost. Mine roost about a foot off the ground.
