Silkies- Frizzled or Not?

I have a beautiful 2-week batch of Silkies. A few of them have different feathering than others. They almost look like auto-sexing feathers.

Would love any and all input!

Not sure what you mean by autosexing feathers, but no, no frizzling

… I’m still fairly new to the flock world, so this may be a silly question, but if I don’t ask veterans, then I won’t know. What are other possibilities for that big of a difference (at least in my experience - have many others that weren’t like that at all.

I’m not sure what you mean by the big difference. But quality can make a huge difference in silkie feathering.

I'm still not entirely sure what you mean.
The three feather types are smooth/normal, frizzled, and silked.
Smooth chick wings

Frizzled chick wings

Silked.

Your chicks are Silkies, so they have silked feathers.

These babies are the "different" ones... the rest of my Silkies do not, or have not from my older ones, have the longer primary feathering.

Ah, I see. I think they'll sort themselves out as they get older. It all looks silked to me.
