Hi!! I have two silkies that have bumblefoot right on their middle pad. It’s not swollen looking, just the dark circle scab. I put gentian violet on it for now and plan on wrapping the roosts with hemp to make it easier on their feet.
do I absolutely have to take off the scab for them to heal? Any other tips or tricks? I wonder if it’s on the middle pad on both of their feet if it could be from the roosts

Can you post some photos?
First picture shows both feet on one silkie. Other two pictures are each foot of the other silkie. I have 8 hens(silkies, barred rocks, isa browns) only the silkies have it. They also roost on the tall roost in the run too even though I have a shorter one for them. Not sure if that could be the cause
