Final Test Results Are In!!
The Coconut Oil works great & the lice nits either disappear or fall off - not sure which. The only drawback is trying to keep it warm enough so it stays liquid. I put it in a plastic bottle, nuked it to liquid, & then wrapped the bottle in a sock. Worked great for a while but then it started getting hard. Luckily, I had some of those chemical hand warmers on hand so I wrapped those up in the sock & that solved the problem.
Also, corn oil worked just fine. Not sure if it was as good as the coconut oil as it took 2 applications. However, probably wasn't a fair test as the hen I used it on was about 5 times as bad as the others.
The only drawback to the coconut oil was that it smelled so good it made me hungry!!!
My sincere thanks to everyone who responded. BYC'rs are the BEST!!!!
