Silkies/How can you tell male/female?

Yea, I think they will....I've read about Roos mating with people's shoes on here. Especially the "teenage" boys.

OK, here is a question I cannot believe I am about to type...

if it is so difficult to tell a male/female, it is because there are no....ummmm...visible testicles?

I mean, you just can't pick them up and look?

exactly right... poultry what nots are internal....

I could tell my partridge roo was just that at about 4 months... they have a different attitude (though not so much as a "real" chicken) the long streaming feathers at the neck just look different, the female are really just cute andf fluffy.

BTW, my little female lays about 4 eggs a week.. as a matter of fact she is doing better than all but one of my layers at the moment the molting free loaders. Some iof them I think are even just pretending to molt so they don't need to bother going in doors! lol
