I have 2 Silkie pullets and it is obvious that one outweighs the other. They will be 5 months old Sept 10. When the smaller one was about 5 weeks old, her neck was injured. I think her head must have been stepped on by our Cornish Cross Rooster. We noticed her that same day and confined her so she could recover. We had to hand feed her, she couldn't move her neck...it was kinda squished down between her shoulders. She is still behind in weight gain and spoiled rotten. She just seems to be "slower" than the other one. Therefore my husband calls them Dumb and Dumber, but he does love them. When he comes out in the yard, she actually walks up and stops in front of him so he will pick her up. When she gets in trouble with our RIRs, if we are in the yard, she comes squawking and running for us to protect her...and we do. I guess she is our new "baby". She gets fed at bedtime, unlike everyone else, trying to help her catch up.

Quick change of plans, maybe we will hatch some eggs.
