Silkies Of A Different Color

I told her heavy on the red, gray & champagne (she said her reds & buffs are in together but there are 3 gorgeously nice red roos in there, so I should get something nice), and she also said her grays and champagnes are in together in order to darken them (okay, that I don't understand?? I certainly wouldn't want those mixed together, but we'll see how they turn out. It's one of those things where that color is so rare in the first place, that you kinda have to take what you cn get and work it from there. Plus genetic diversity I suppose.). l told her a couple of paints thrown in would be nice as well. But she also has BBS & partridge and I can't remember what else. Her ad said she had silvers, but she didn't mention that color when she PM'd me. So either she's sold our or no longer has them. IDK. But my cochin banty's got mailed out today, so I should be getting them about a day apart. I ordered columbian (regular, blue, and buff columbian colors), regular calico/mille as well as blue calico/mille (chance for frizzles), buff barred, lavender, birchen, silver laced. She USED TO have reds, but no longer has them. I was hoping for them, but will have to find someone else. But that's gonna hafta wait b/c I don't have money to buy everything all at once.

SHe may have her greys in with her champagnes to get whiter paints.

She sent me PM pics. Do you think it'd be ok if I posted them here for you guys to see? Do people get mad if you "steal" their pictures? Or is it mostly b/c people take the pics and put them on their site and try to pass them off as THEIRS?

but the big reason i wanted to post the pictures is to show my light gray/gray/penciled/silver what ever hen (not sure what to call her) she's broody and sitting on a clutch of her own eggs now. and a bit shabby and dirty now but wanted to get peoples thoughts.
she hatched last year but looked just like the two of her chicks that just hatched a few days ago, and one that hatched early spring. so i can show a progression of how they will mature.

3 days old

hatched out earlier this spring still maturing .......

fully mature and very broody hen. happily resting in her brooding pen, waiting on some chicks to be ready. they're all from my columbian silkie pen. and don't fully look like the average gray or silver partridge silkie so i just wanted to get a more knowledgeable persons thoughts on what to call them? i bought a gray/silver partridge chick earlier this summer for one of my hens that had a poor hatch.

she looks like a nice silkie and i like her. she's just not like the chicks i've been hatching out. so is gray the same as silver partridge or penciled or what exactly are the differences. and is that what i have here?

good question, not sure?
you might have to get her permission. it would be advertising for her if she sells eggs, most likely she wouldn't mind but it would be safer to ask.
but again not sure what the rules are??
and if it is bad to copy other folks pictures, i have seen people use other photos than their own birds. so is there a resource guild that i dont know about? if so i

would love to know.

I think I would ask permission, but she probably won't have a problem.

Hopefully Sonoran will see this and respond, in my opinion she is the color expert.

She almost looks like she could have some cuckoo in her with brown or dun. Your bottom picture looks like a gray to me. I call the gray coloring that has penciling a silver partridge (because partridge is supposed to have penciling) and the gray coloring without it gray. But I think others have said they are all gray, though the gray with penciling is not to standard requirements (an even chinchilla gray). That is just how I keep them straight in my little pea brain.

I think people will post pictures off the internet and say they got it off the internet.
