Silkies Of A Different Color

Pics
I like Marigold too!!! What unusual color!

This is little Gracie who is growing to be a gray silkie. She was an odd color as a chick so held her back to see what became. She is from a blue partridge hen & lavendar roo. Am still looking to integrate buff & splash but some of these other colors are intriguing as well

So yeah, only one frizzle at a time...

if u breed frizzle to frizzle as long both of them had one non frizzle parent the babies well be ok

Do you know how to do a Punnet Square? If you breed together two birds who each carry one copy of the frizzle gene, about half will inherit only one copy. A quarter will inherit no copies, and hte other quarter will inherit two copies: from the standpoint of the bird's health, not a good thing.

ive bred frizzle of diffrent breeds for years and as long as u dont breed frizzle to frizzle to many time it ok some best frizzle come from frizzle to frizzle breedings

Any idea on the color/pattern of this bird? It popped up in some paint breedings... I have one girl and a couple boys this color. I almost want to say it's blue a mottled bird but just not sure.

Dark Splash

I have a STUNNING hen the same color, and she is a regular splash no paint in her. I have kept her to breed back into my splash line. She will go very well with the birds that get to light.

I have a hen just like her from my splash pen also. Would this be to dark in a show pen as splash? More then half dark.

hmmmmm... guess I wouldn't have considered her a splash since her base color is darker than the typical slate base you'd see in a splash. What you can't see in the photos is she has an almost 'frosted' look when seen in person... where one feather strand out of every 200 or so is white. The 'frosting' is consistent and even over her entire body.

chickendales.... get out your checkbook... I have extra boys that would love to live in MI (they are OSU fans though)
