Silkies Of A Different Color

I just don't think all he has is barring- eg I think he has some other base colour? as you can see he is so different to all my other cuckoos.

His tail and wings look lightly barred in the pic. I guess you'll just have to breed him and let us know what you get!

Yes I am quiet aware he is barred ( Bb or BB I am not sure) will find out I guess with his babies.
I have found another pic that is comparable in colour!!! yay. AND I have an idea which hen the colour came from too..

Oh and no-bearded silkies are the norm in NZ, esp is the cuckoos! a lot of people are trying to get the beards in them! lol

i don't think silver birchen is the answer unless he is homogenized plus silver birchen.

The color looks dun or khaki to me. I know that those aren't the same genes so I don't know how to determine which but the color is in the brown range at least on my screen.

Or I was thinking Splash cuckoo? or it could be splash and silver together?

I have put him in his own pen, and wishing I had some plain blacks to mate him too, I only have one black older hen, sister of my founding cuckoo roo, but have sold off all others in favour of keeping more barred silkies!

does the 'silver birchen' have a silver wing triangle or is that from barring?

What do you guys think of this cockerel? Hes started to get these white patches all over his body. I'm not sure whats going on here

He came from a black rooster and blue or splash hens, so shouldn't be splash.

He's got patches of white feathers popping up everywhere, crest, feet, chest, back, everywhere!

I have a couple of silkies that I'm not sure of what color they are. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The first 3 pics are of birds that are around 4 months old.

1. Black silkie with silver on him, named "BlackJack". He is really hard to get pics of.


2. Porcelain? silkie around 4 months old. His name is "Rufus"


3. Partridge? Female named "Bon Bon"



The rest of the birds pictured are around 2 months old.

4. Black with Red wings, neck. Male?


5. Black with red/gold neck. Female?


6. Red? male?
