Silkies Of A Different Color

Pics
Thank you very much for identifying thier colours for me Sonoran Silkies, Peepblessed and Gardeningmama. Does any one of you guys have a picture of a Blue Quail that I can compare with Ambrosia's picture?

Quote: SIlversilkie may have some. I don't know anyone else working on quail. It is a very striking pattern, commonly seen in d'Anvers and even in OEGB.

Rather than posting individual photos, here is a link to feathersite Antwerp Belgian d'Anvers. Many, variations of quail are shown, along with other varieties. Quail pattern to d'Anvers is like mille fleur to d'Uccles.

Yes, very striking! Thanks for the photo site!

Very interesting! Thanks for posting that site! It's was really very VERY interesting to see those different patterns. Quite striking to see the pattern on normal feathered chickens. I have a few more silkie babies that I'm waiting to fluff up before I post their pictures. I need to ask you people what colour they are also..... :)

Hi, everybody! Here's a picture of my Pullet whom we call Sandwoman at home. Can anyone identify her colour? The picture doesn't do her any justice. She looks Yellow in the picture but in real life, the "buff" looking feathers are actually cream in colour.

We've kept three of them from the clutch and all three share the same colour, however, one has a more chocolatier body. We're definitely keeping Sandwoman with us...the other two pullets will be going home to my friends coop soon. Their dad is Blue and the mom is Buff.

I was searching through the net for Chicken Colours yesterday after I posted the link to the pictures. Could it be that these girls are Silver Duckwing in colour?

I know that you should only breed white to white, but what about buff to splash? What would you get? And is there anyone in Maine or even New Hampshire that has silkie eggs that are these different colors? All I have is buff, gray/blue splash??, white, and white splash?. I'd love to add some different colors to our flock. My kids adore our silkies!
