I have 6 fuzzy new silkie babies outside hatched under their mamas. The hens are off the nest as of this morning. I went out to take a look and found about 12 unhatched eggs. My incubator is up and running. What are the chances that these eggs are still any good? I know that the other 2 silkies were still laying in the nest after these two went broody. I candled them and found one clear and the others all developed but saw no movement. The eggs were chilly to the touch (it is 60 here today). I know that they were sitting in the nest last night at lock up and this morning when I unlocked them. Probably 3 hours maximum they had not been covered. They are in the incubator now... thoughts???

There might be a chance.... Give them 4 or 5 hours to warm up and recoop and then recheck them. Even then, its hard to see movement on eggs that far along so leave them in a day or two and see what you get!

I am very happy to say that I have one zipping now and heard another one peeping in the shell, but not external piped yet!! YAY!!

I am really happy to add that I have hatched 5 fuzzy babies and have 2 more piped!! 2 each day! LOVE this instant gratification hatching. Now if I could just figure out those goose eggs
