Silkies - They’re simply SPECTACULAR!

I have a few more I’m going to post to ask about too!! These colors have threw me off!!! The mom is solid white! The dad is black.

Mom is recessive white which can “hide” almost any color, partridge is common.

I'm still learning myself...but you are in the right place for some very knowledgeable sweet folks here!!!
I too have a recessive white that is about to start laying....will definitely be interesting to see what her chicks will look like!

Looks like you will get a lot of Silver Partridge like mixed color chicks, unless dad had a Partridge parent, too.
I had a similar hen that had a Partridge dad and Black mom. They will look very different when they get all their feathers in.

This fluffy cuteness is perfect!!!! Started out white and black with pink skin and 5 toes! As it’s grew its skin has turned blackish pink and the white has thinned out in the feathers!! I don’t know if the mom is my white Silkie or my black frizzle! The dad is still a black Silkie. Is it a sizzle? Or Silkie???? They lay their eggs in the same nest

For it to have Silkied feathers, has to be at least 75% Silkie. Photos of possible parents would help.

My same white and black pair hatched three more partridge and a little black&white baby! One of the baby partridge looks smooth like a satin! One baby partridge looks like it’s curled like a frizzle but it was laid by my white hen! And the other looks like a normal Silkie feathering! The black and white one looks normal as well! Lol partridge is about in all the eggs she hatches!! Or occasionally the black and white mixed feathers!
And it was dark in their growout brooder so colors aren’t showing well! I’ll take better pictures of them tomorrow! Lol
