SILKIES... White + Splash = ?

I get the genetics of blue, black and splash combination possibilities. If slash is a result of two recessive blue genes, and white is two recessive white genes, then would a white X slash mating result in 100% white?

Back to your first question. No.

All chickens have all chicken genes. Different varieties have specific combinations of alleles (the alternatives for a specific gene) unique to that variety.

Recessive and dominant have no bearing on the relationship between different genes. Rather, it has to do with the relationship between the alleles for a particular gene.

For a recessive allele to make its presence known, there must not be a more dominant allele for that gene present in the bird. A bird who is Cc will not be white, whereas one who is cc will. A bird who is Momo will not be mottled, whereas one who is momo will. A bird who is Lavlav will not be lavender, whereas one who is lavlav will.

Recessive white (c) is recessive only to the dominant C-locus allele. Not to blue or lavender or black or any other gene.

Splash is not recessive. Rather, it is incompletely dominant, which means that one copy of the allele causes an intermediate result between two copies and zero copies. BlBl is splash; Blbl is blue; blbl is not-blue.

Recessive white turns OFF the appearance of all colour and pattern alleles present in the bird. A recessive white bird could genetically be partridge, buff, splash, grey, or pink with lime green mottling

and you would never know, because the recessive white prevents them from showing. Since they can't be seen, one can't select for or against them.

Breed a recessive white who is genetically partridge to a recessive white who is genetically mottled and you'll never know it, but the genes will mix the colours and patterns together. If you then cross the offspring from that match with a non-white bird, those mixed up genes will make their presence known.

A bird may be pure for recessive white, but there is no way of knowing the state of the other colour and pattern genes it carries.​
