SILKIES....Why The Bad Reputation?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my silkies and showgirls. I have found my showgirls are a bit more outgoing than my silkies...probably because they can see a bit better. I also LOVE my roos

I have yet to have a silkie or showgirl roo that I do not love. They are so personable and kind to their girls (and me).

I've had a couple of roosters that I had to spar on a daily basis, but for the most part they are very pleasant. The only thing Evil about a silkie, is that they give you this disease when you have been around them for a while, and no matter what you do and there is no medication for it yet, but you can not stop hatching them or buying them.

I always interpreted the "evil" part as them being horribly addicting & cute....not actually mean or anything....

Thanks so much! I hatched him out last fall and he is replacing his father this year. His first eggs are due to hatch in 4 days! I have him paired with my two nicest black hens (both silkie) so I am hoping for some nice splits

I hope your hatch is doing well
